An Electric Truck Put to the Test

In partnership with Camions Excellence Peterbilt, we have announced our participation in the electric sector by testing one of their electric trucks. It will be used on a specific route to gather valuable data that will enable us to establish the medium- and long-term impact of such a change on our operations.

“We are determined to participate in the energy transition and in the objectives set by various governments in the effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. With the new announcement of the Mauricie Centre-du-Québec region’s innovation zone, we want to position ourselves as a major player in the success of this ambitious project for Quebec, and this opportunity is an excellent starting point”, says Serge Bellemare, President of Groupe Bellemare.

Although this vehicle is not designed for long-distance transport at the moment, the safety it brings, its ride quality, its reliability, the performance it generates and the feeling of being part of changes in society have a direct impact on the quality of life of drivers, who are discovering it for the very first time.

The giant is being put to the test for a week, to compare its capabilities with those of a diesel truck doing the same route on a daily basis. “If it proves conclusive for us, it could be rolled out fairly quickly,” says Sacha Bellemare, Rolling Stock and Equipment Specialist at Groupe Bellemare.
